Request for Proposals: South Lucretia Prescribed Fire Preparation
The Butte County Fire Safe Council is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for mechanical cutting, grapple piling, hand cut and pile, and fire control line construction on the South Lucretia Prescribed Fire Preparation project off Lucretia Rd in Magalia. A mandatory in-person bid walk is Tuesday, June 9, 2026; bids are due Tuesday, June 23, 2026, by 4:00pm.

The Butte County Fire Safe Council is soliciting Request for Proposals from qualified contractors to provide mechanical cutting, grapple piling, hand cut and pile, and fire control line construction on the South Lucretia Prescribed Fire Preparation project in Butte County, CA. Project work will occur on a Plumas National Forest parcel off of Lucretia Rd in Magalia. Interested contractors must attend the bid walk in person in order to submit a bid for the project.
Selected contractor(s) will conduct fuel reduction. All insurance and certifications must always be current during the duration of the contract. Following the award of the project, the successful contractor shall enter into a contract with BCFSC for the services specified in this Request for Proposals. A contractor submitting a proposal must be prepared to use the BCFSC's standard contract form rather than their own contract form. Compensation shall not exceed the "Not to Exceed" amount established within the contract.
Work is anticipated to begin in July 2026 and be completed by March 2027. This project is funded by the Challenge Cost Share Agreement. It is designed to implement fuel treatments that mitigate the risk to communities and critical infrastructure from wildfire.
Timeline:
- Contractor Walk Through — Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 @ 2:00pm (contractor must attend bid walk in person to bid on the project).
- Inquiry Submission Deadline — Any inquiry regarding this RFP must be submitted in writing to [email protected] by Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, by 4:00pm.
- Addendum Response Issuance — Responses shall be made in the form of "Addendum to the Document" and shall be furnished to all bidders via e-mail by Thursday, June 18th, 2026, by 4:00pm.
- Bid Submission Deadline — Bids shall be submitted to BCFSC via email to [email protected] on or before Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, by 4:00pm.
Sealed hardcopy proposals may be dropped off at the BCFSC office at 6569 Clark Road, Paradise, CA 95969, or mailed to P.O. Box 699, Paradise, CA 95967.
